BACKUP!

I have been having serious troubles with my Nikon D90. I can't complete more than four or five pictures before it locks up with an "err" code so I am sending it in for service already. :(

I received the camera after buying it on December 16th, 2009 and I started having serious troubles with it just 4 weeks later in the middle of my first camera class. The bad part is that I have to send the D90 all the way to New York to have it serviced and my Winter Pictures class started yesterday and I don't have a DSLR to use.

So I ordered some backup; a Nikon D60 kit from newegg.com after reading the reviews of five budget DSLR cameras in the January issue of Digital Photo. The Nikon D60 got the Digital Photo gold award out of the five they compared and the Canon EOS 1000D took the silver.

The Nikon D60 cost a lot less than my Nikon D90 and it will be interesting to compare the performance of the two cameras once I get the D90 back from servicing.

According to UPS tracking the Nikon D60 should arrive sometime tomorrow. It will be good to be able to get out and shoot my class assignments and get them submitted on time.
